History
T.E.A.M. Sports Surfaces was established in Sydney in 1997 by its founder and CEO John Curtis.
The original markets that were supplied to included synthetic tennis courts and kindergarten landscape products to the local market.
Within six months TEAM had increased its product range to include synthetic surfaces for Cricket, Hockey, Lawn Bowls, Athletics and multipurpose applications. The business was supplying the Australian and New Zealand markets.
As a benchmark testimony to the quality being produced, the Aquaturf Hockey surface gained approval by the FIH (Federation International Hockey) in the first 6 months.
In 2000 the company introduced its first Football surface in Korea to coincide with the preparations for the FIFA 2002 World Cup – Japan / Korea. This facility was utilised by competing World Cup teams as a training facility during the FIFA 2002 World Cup. 2000 was also the year that TEAM supplied and installed the Queensland State Sports Centre with a showcase synthetic Hockey field. The company has installed many Hockey fields and is considered a preferred supplier to the Hockey fraternity. Tennis is also a major benefactor of our leading edge technologies.
The achievements were not over for our company in this very prosperous year and we were delighted to be involved in the Sydney Olympic Stadium surface as well. The experience gained through these major projects has been the foundation of the TEAM SPORTS SURFACES ambitions to grow our business both domestically and internationally in the 21st Century. v
