History
1997-1999
• TEAM Sports (TEAM) was established in Sydney in 1997
• TEAM’s principal activity was the manufacturing and supply of 1st and 2nd Generation synthetic grass surfaces for tennis courts and playgrounds
• In 1998 TEAM expanded its business to include synthetic surfaces for cricket, hockey, lawn bowls and multi-purpose playgrounds
• During this 3 year start up period TEAM gradually established a distributor network of contractors and agents throughout Australia and New Zealand
• In 1999, TEAM gained FIH (Federation International Hockey) approval for ‘TEAM Aquaturf’ and secured its first 3 hockey contracts within 12 months
• Research and development was undertaken in the development of 3rd Generation football surfaces
2000-2004
• TEAM launched it’s first 3rd Generation football surface in installing the world’s first dedicated rugby field at the Runaway Bay Super Sports Centre on the Gold Coast
• TEAM expanded it’s distribution network to include South East Asia with significant exports to China and Hong Kong
• In 2001, TEAM installed two training pitches for the 2002 FIFA World Cup
• TEAM opened an office in Shanghai, China during 2003 to manage the significant growth in its sales and distribution network
• TEAM joined the FIFA Quality Concept program as a licensee in 2004 to continue its development of 3rd Generation synthetic football surfaces
2005-2009
• TEAM presents FIH with the first sand dressed waterless hockey surface Aquaturf SL installed at Altona Hockey Club in Victoria
• TEAM exports Aquaturf SL waterless hockey fields to the United Kingdom
• TEAM secures contracts at the State Hockey Centres for Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia and Tasmania
• TEAM reaches the 100+ mark for football fields installed throughout South East Asia
• In 2007, TEAM expanded its Oceania preserve to include a sales, marketing and installation company in New Zealand, TEAM Sports Surfaces Ltd.
• TEAM joined the ITF (International Tennis Federation) Classification scheme for its range of tennis court systems
• TEAM launches its latest waterless synthetic bowls surface ‘DryMax’ attracting wide acceptance throughout Australia
2009 Highlights
• TEAM gains World Bowls approval for its DryMax waterless bowls surface
• TEAM joins the AFL/CA as a Licensee to develop synthetic surfaces for Australian Football and Cricket
• TEAM is appointed Conica agent for athletic tracks in Australia and New Zealand and installs the first project at Dunedin Athletics track (New Zealand)
• TEAM wins FIFA Goal Project – Oman
• TEAM appointed Schmitz Foam Products distribution agent for Australia and New Zealand
