ACADEMY

Our premium product “Academy” has two pile height options and offers a superb alternative to natural grass. We have three versions of this outstanding product to suit all playing conditions.

The original “Academy” is the perfect wicket that suits batters and bowlers alike. The fast bowlers will be able to extract some cut off the seam of the wicket whilst the spinners will be able to get some purchase on the wicket. The batsmen are assured of an even speed and bounce and can confidently go about playing all their shots off both front and back feet. We liken this wicket to playing on the Adelaide Oval. This product has a 10mm pile height.

The “Academy Spin” has a more condensed stitch rate coupled with a higher carpet pile height (12mm) that has a slowing effect on the ball. The slower bowlers are able to obtain more cut or seem and the spinners are able to extract more purchase and spin off the wicket. The batsmen are not greatly disadvantaged but they do find that they have to move their feet a little more to get into position to play their shots. We have likened this wicket to playing on the S.C.G.

The final wicket in the Academy range is the “Academy Pace”. Once again the batsmen will have to get their footwork in order when choosing to play of the front or back foot. This wicket has been designed to keep the fast bowlers smiling as it offers more pace and bounce. More importantly, it offers a very consistent pace and bounce that will see the batsman able to play their shots without fear of the ball rearing up of a good length. This wicket would look right at home in Perth or Brisbane.

SHIELD – TRIPLE STRIPE

These are recognized wickets for schools, councils and cricket clubs offering a lively surface when new. Over time the surface will flatten to give a true bounce with an even pace.
